For When you Feel Like God Has Broken His Promise.
My motto used to always be “Dream Big.” As I was growing up I was most definitely a dreamer. I had big plans and I wanted to be a world changer.
I think there are a lot of us “dreamers” out there who just want to make a difference in this world. We can see the best in people, and their potential is more evident to us than their short comings, and their mistakes.
We have HOPE and feel very strongly that everyone on this planet has a purpose, and life is meant to be valued.
[inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]I think the older we get the harder it gets to dream…[/inlinetweet] and to have that kind of hope.
Life can be cruel sometimes, and often us dreamers might ask ourselves if it’s really just a fairytale, this dream we have in our heart.
We might even get bitter and resentful towards God because we feel like He has broken His promise to us. We take risks and have courage so that we can change the world, for Him!
This is what He wants, right?
Doesn’t God want us to bring peace, love, & happiness to everyone in the whole wide world?
We see the tragedies that take place in this world, our world, His world. We know it breaks His heart.
We know that God is love.
So why is it so hard to dream?
Why is every GOOD desire that is within our heart met with a mountain to climb?
[inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]Has God broken His promise to us?[/inlinetweet]
One revelation I had when I asked myself this question was that [inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]God never asked me to save the world[/inlinetweet], He just asked me to worship Him and to be a WITNESS to the saving grace that is His son, JESUS!
God didn’t break His promise because maybe we are doing more than He ever asked us to do.
God has promised us a lot of good things, but He never promised it would be easy. However He has promised us that if we worship Him then we will be blessed and have LIFE!
He also promised us that in this world we will have trouble but HE has overcome the world.
I still dream big, but maybe on a smaller scale. I’m not so motivated to change the world anymore. The world doesn’t need me to change it, the world simply needs Jesus. But I have read what WILL happen to the world that doesn’t turn from its own selfishness, we can’t stop that from happening.
But we can be a witness to those around us.
We can bring life and blessings to our home, family, and friends. My dreams are ones for myself, my husband, my children, my family, and my friends.
We may not have the capacity to change the world. But we are capable of making an impact in the lives of those who surround us.
I love looking at the pictures of the universe. It makes me feel small.
It also helps to remind me that the BIGGEST impact is still small.
This world is so much bigger than we could ever imagine, and it is filled with people who are broken and who have experienced things we have never experienced. We could never fully grasp how great it is, and yet it is still so small in this vast universe.
Maybe we’ve taken on more than we are capable of.
Maybe the most extraordinary thing you could do right now is to simple BE your ordinary self!
God will transform your heart when you bow down to His daily will for your life. – Worship is this.
[inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]As dreamers we need to dream so big, it’s small![/inlinetweet]
We need to develop a vision for TODAY!
This journey is often long, it’s difficult, and there are different seasons and landscapes around every corner.
[inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]Just because God’s promise doesn’t look like what you’d hoped it would, it doesn’t mean He has broken His promise.[/inlinetweet]
So don’t stop dreaming because you feel like your dreams haven’t come true. God still wants you to dream, and He still has a promise for you. Maybe you just need to change your perspective. and THEN you will see the promise unfolding right in front of you!
